Gyeongbokgung, or the Palace of Felicitous Blessing, was the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). It opened in 1395, the fourth year of the reign of Taejo, the founding monarch of Joseon. The palace attained all necessary facilities and systems commensurate with its status as Joseon’s primary palace during the reign of Sejong (r. 1418-1450). It was burnt down in 1592 during the Japanese invasions and remained in ruins until extensive reconstruction was undertaken in 1868, the fifth year of Gojong. However, many of the structures were removed during the Japanese colonial rule (1908-1945).
The Cultural Heritage Administration has been restoring the palace since 1990. First of all, the old Japanese government-general building was dismantled and Heungnyemun and its cloisters were reconstructed. The bedchambers of the king and the queen, named Gangnyeongjeon and Gyotaejeon, as well as Donggung, or the East Palace, the residence of crown prince, were restored. Currently, Gwanghwamun, the palace’s main gate, is being rebuilt. Thus, the palace is regaining its old splendor.
At the same time, the palace’s official homepage has recently been refurbished to provide better service to internet users. The site offers virtual tours around the palace and introduces colorful events held in its beautiful compounds. Its service has been further upgraded with diverse functions, including a bulletin board for visitors to share their memories of the palace.
The staff of the Gyeongbokgung Office will continue to do its best to preserve and promote the palace, a most illustrious legacy of our ancestors.

It was proved by prominent research institutions such as Korean Research Institute of Standards and Science, Korean Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Taepyungyang Technology Institution, Dr. Kim, Jae-baek and the team workers in Wonkwang Univ. etc. that Boryeong Mud cosmetics have much far-infrared factors good for the human body and also have higher Germanium, Mineral and Bentonite contents compared to imported products.
And also, we receive ISO 9002 Certification in 2001. Accordingly, we wanted to make the public aware of the superiority of Boryeong Mud, the good product, Boryeong Mud Cosmetic and also to advertise the sightseeing place including Daecheon swimming beach. So, we held the mud festival in July 1998 for the first time and now we are to bring up this festival into a global event.
Boryeong Mud Festival has been held at Daecheon swimming beach, there is a unique shell-powered sandy beach only found in Eastern countries. So, you may swim and massage with a mudpack at the same time. Furthermore, there are Mud massage programs (Self massage at the Beach, Ultramodern mud massage) and Mud Experiential Land program using mud powder made through the processing procedure, that is, we gather mud from pure plain and remove all impurities.
There are many events such as mud wrestling, mud king contest, mud fireworks fantasy and mud sliding. There will also be a photo competition in which past members have come in first place. You will have the chance to join the adventurous silt extreme training experience. This will be a various marine-type extreme training course on silt such as silt basic training, games, cavalry battles and human pyramid. Korean Beer has not a good reputation for it's tasty. because of high tax influence on it's quality.
So do not recommend the beer.
However, you can meet cass and hite as a normal liquid during traveling Korea.
If you have an opportunity try to drink "SOJU" that is cheeper than beer. It's korean traditional alcohol
It's including 19% alcohol and "Cham Isul" is the most famous brand.
